I'm using Amelia for a fitness studio. What is the functional difference between appointments and events? I currently have 7-8 group classes that repeat weekly. Should I use an appointment or an event?
Hello Kevin,
We implemented the Recurring appointments feature in the last update of Amelia, so customers can book recurring appointments at once now in Amelia. But there isn't a possibility to buy Packages in Amelia with its current built-in features. So, if the classes have one price (all together) you can use Events for your use case.
Their settings are different so you should check them out and see which one suits your business needs best. Google calendar sync is for Services only.
If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
I was so thinking and hoping Amelia could handle what I need, but it doesn't seem to be able to do that. I need to list a class at a specific time on a Monday and have it repeat weekly. I also need to have that class (event or appointment) create a Zoom meeting. It appears Zoom meetings don't work with Events, and Appointments can't be a single specified time. So I don't think I can use Amelia in the way I thought I could. Unless I'm missing something.
Hello Kevin,
The available time slots for appointments in Amelia are set by configuring employees' work hours, and you can create different time periods for each day under the Work hours tab and assign different services to each work period/day. So, for example, if you assign a service to a employee on Monday and set their work hours for that day from 8 to 10, so this will be available time slots for booking an appointment for that service/employee.
Events work with Zoom, when you create an event you will be able to choose a Zoom user if you have Zoom configured in Amelia -> Settings -> Integrations, and this event will have Zoom enabled.
