    Hello,

I use WP Amelia to manage reservations in a park.
I have set the plugin so that the appointments are available until the gauge is filled (13 people maximum).
Everything works well on the front end. For example if a client wants to book for 3 people and the 10 am slot and there are still 5 places, the appointment appears after choosing the date.
However in the back-end, when I create a new appointment, I cannot select an appointment where there is already a reservation even if there is still room.

I suggested to my employees to use the front-end form to create reservations. But the form becomes unusable after a reservation since it associates the client with the connected administrator account and displays the contact details of the last client without the possibility of modifying.

How can I fix these two problems?

    thank you,

    Maxime Prévot

    Hello Maxime

    Thank you for your purchase.

It can't work because you're trying to add new appointments.

You'll notice that these appointments (made by customers in front-end, for the same time slot) appear as Group Appointments in back-end, not several appointments. That logic needs to be applied when you're adding new people from the back.

So, you're not supposed to add new appointments, but instead select the existing appointment and add customers in it.

    Hello Aleksandar,

    Thank you for your reply.

I had indeed found this solution. Add new customers to an existing appointment.
But I find this method impractical. You must necessarily click on each appointment to see the number of places taken and above all calculate the number of places remaining. I grant you that for a gauge of 13 the calculation is very simple but this gauge will increase in the future and that may complicate things.

I therefore proposed to my employees to use the front end to make appointments since it only offers appointments where there is enough space. But the system associates each new appointment with the connected WordPress administrator account and after that I can no longer change the information in the form and therefore create a new appointment. All I've found yet is to make front end reservations via private browsing.

    So I have two questions:

    • Is it possible not to associate new appointments with a connected WordPress account?
    • And is it possible in a future update to display the number of places remaining on each appointment in the schedule? I really find it unfortunate that the back end is less easy to use than the front end.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

    Regards,

    Hi again Maxime

You can go to Amelia Settings/Roles Settings/Customers and disable this slider:

That will not check the email address of the user when booking a new appointment, so they will be able to add new customers with an existing email address (change name and last name). However, if you're logged into WordPress, that data will be filled automatically. Also, as an admin you are not able to change this if you already made one booking while logged in. There's no workaround for this, so private browsing session is the only way.

I will forward your suggestions to our development team, and hopefully they'll be able to modify the plugin behavior in the future.
