Update: I'd like you to forget my last ticket. I've figured out how to connect Amelia with WooCommerce products :)
However, I have discovered a problem with the recurring booking option that I need a fix for. I will explain my situation.
For my purpose, I need to sell 30 recurring bookings in a row (it cannot be 29, or 31). The booking form attaches to a 30-week course that I sell as a WooCommerce Product. Each course is about $1000 and includes 30 classes with Zoom integration. The classes need to occur at the same time each week.
This means that the students CANNOT be allowed to have the freedom to choose 29, 30, or 31 lessons. It must be pre-selected. It must be 30 lessons every time, because that's the product they are buying. I just need them to choose 1 time/date in the week, and then it will automatically repeats it 30 times.
You have done an incredible job with the recurring bookings function, but I need a far simpler functionality! I just simply need to pre-select 30 recurring bookings, so that they can book it and connect it to the employee calendar.
Is this clear? I just need to be able to pre-select 30 bookings, without giving the customer the huge amount of options that are available. You've done an amazing job with the recurring booking part of the app, but it's far too detailed and complicated for my use-case. I just need it to be simple to choose a time/date, and then have it repeat 30 times!
This will then sync up to my WooCommerce product at $1000.
On the other hand, if they used the current method, they could select 100 recurring bookings and still pay $1000.
Can you guys implement this in Amelia? Or should I be using another plugin? It seems very easy for you guys to implement, as I just need to "strip back" the options that are given to customers. They shouldn't have this much freedom, because I just want them to choose a time/date. Is it easy for you to implement? I really hope you can speak to the CEO and implement this.
It's a simple update that just takes away from of the control from the customer (because sometimes they shouldn't be able to choose so much detail).
1. You'll just need to add the option to pre-select the recurring booking option.
2. You just need to allow the option to pre-select the number of recurring times.
I have included detailed screenshots to highlight the points.
I have forwarded your request to our development team, and they said they will look into it. Basically, you need to create:
A service which has "recurring" option enabled by default, and it's mandatory.
A fixed amount of repeats is entered (30)
The customer only gets to choose the day in the week when recurring appointment will start, and they cannot alter it
Does this sound right? Please don't go into too much detail. I understand what you mean, but if we can simply define the bullet points, so we know what to focus on - that would be great.
Aleksandar! I'm sorry – I registered with my old email address, so I never saw your reply.
This is still an urgent need for me. Here are the important details:
• A service which has "recurring" option enabled by default, and it's mandatory. (Yes!) • A fixed amount of repeats is entered (I need to be able to decide the number of recurring bookings myself from the backend. It might be 10, 20, 30, 31, 44, etc). I need to enter the number of recurring bookings myself (each course is a fixed length). • The customer chooses the day and the time (by analyzing the employees calendar - they cannot alter it and it's fixed unless the admin changes it for them).
I will reply much quicker now since I have updated my email address.
Thanks. I hope you can help me to achieve this. The Amelia plugin is working well as a plugin to book haircuts, gardening services, etc. It just needs to be thought out from a school's perspective. A curriculum at a private school might be 30 or 60-lessons. It's inflexible, and the parents pay for 30 or 60-lessons all at once.
The 30-lesson service will be linked to a 30-lesson product in WooCommerce. The students will simply use the booking form to chose the right time for the class (this will help them find a suitable time, with the right teacher/employee).
I look forward to seeing what the team come up with. Please let me know if you need more help or discussion. I'm happy to help, and am excited to see the plugin in action.
I'm a bit taken aback by this email. I messaged you with suggestions on how to improve the usability of the plugin, but you've asked for an extra $400 to include functionality that should already exist.
Mandatory recurring bookings are a feature that many individuals and businesses need. I've already bought a license for this product, and I shouldn't be the one to pay for upgrades.
I don't think I would need to edit the date/time, or set a maximum/minimum recurring appointment. I've simply said that individuals should be able to set a number of instances for the meeting. This is important for many users. There are many non-negotiable fixed packages like this that all types of businesses sell.
This should be built into the plugin, because it's missing from the recurring bookings feature. Right now, the customer has all the control. This is only good for a % of your market, as many business operate in the reverse (and need to be able to decide on the number of bookings in relation to the WooCommerce Product that was purchased). I.e. 5 haircuts for $xx, or 3 rounds of teeth whitening for $xx.
If the business owner cannot set these things, they will not have control over the plugin, their products, and the packages/offers.
I hope you see the sense in this, because it is a way to improve the plugin for everyone.
We do see this as a reasonable request that can be included at some point in the future, but unfortunately at this stage it is not anywhere near the logic the plugin is running on, so the resolution is not a simple modification of existing features, but instead a whole new code to be implemented.
Our developers made the recurring feature based on the desires of our users (the majority of our users), and we're aware that it will not suit all use cases, but the world cannot be pleased, unfortunately. In a perfect world you would have an option to choose the logic that will be used, and in time I'm sure there will be. Unfortunately, to speed up that development requires resources.
Our developers already have over 20 tasks assigned to wash one of them, waiting to be coded and implemented in the plugin, so each one of these custom requests takes them off track, meaning requests more frequently asked by our customers are "suffering" by custom work. This is why custom work is charged $50 per hour.
Your use case will probably be covered in one of our updates, simply because it is logical, but at the time being it is considered custom work, and as custom work it is not included in the support of the plugin.
