I have a service set-up which should allow up to 22 people to book that service. It is an all day service so all 22 people are booking the same time slot. I have followed the set-up instructions and max capacity is set at 22 people, but once one person books the service is no longer available to be booked by anyone else for that day. Have I misunderstood this setting? are group appointments by individuals not able to be made for the same time and day?
It doesn't work because you're trying this from back-end.
The logic is different.
You're allowing 22 customers to book the same appointment, so they are actually updating an existing appointment - creating a group appointment.
When you try to create a new appointment in the place of an existing appointment in back-end - you're not able to do that. However, you can edit the existing appointment, and simply add new customers. This way it will work.
You failed to mention this was happening in back-end, otherwise I would've told you about this difference right away.

Appreciate any help on why this isn't working.
Thanks,

Hello Sophie
Please go to Amelia Settings/Appointment settings, and verify it's set like this:
It should work correctly after that
