If you use the SMS notifications is there a way to give the option for the customer to opt out of receives SMS messages? We need to keep their phone number for normal contact purposes. On most site people can select if they want to receive SMS for communication.
I am sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately something like this is not possible with the plugin's built-in features.
If you enable SMS notifications, and choose which notifications will be sent from Amelia's Notification section, all your customers will receive them. At the moment, there's no way to opt out of this.
Thanks for letting me know. I think it is something that will need to be added for compliance as from what I read for US, Canada and EU "a business must obtain the consumer’s consent before sending an SMS message and must provide reasonable methods for the consumer to revoke consent." I can add something that says by giving your phone number you opt in to receiving the SMS messages but there is no easy way for them to opt out. I'm sure this will apply to a lot more places than the ones I mentioned above.
Sorry off-topic, got the email on the new release but can't see a page where the changes are listed is there a change log somewhere. I like to know what to check.

I agree with you Chris
