Two issues continue to be occurring with Amelia set up.

    1. People aren't able to book further than 7 days in advance despite the service being set to be available for 365 days in advance?

    2. Confirmed appointment email not sending to clients who book in. I have tested it and it says 'error - email has not been sent'.

    Please help asap.

    Hello Mikhailla Maree Glossat,

    Thank you for your purchase.

    1. Could you please check this setting per service as well? As this setting can be set for all service in Amelia -> Settings -> General, and per service in the Services modal under the Settings tab.

    2. Could you please tell me what Mail service have you chosen in Amelia -> Notification settings? Have you followed our instructions for setting this up? If you use SMTP it can be used with Gmail like we provided an example for or any other mail service provider, but you need to have a configuration they need for that. Sometimes using SMTP for some providers like Gmail or similar is not supported by the hosting/server. So you need to check this out with them as well, what configuration is needed for SMTP sending emails on your servers.

If you have some other plugin for this purpose, sending emails/ SMTP, on your website, then you need to choose WP Mail as a Mail service in Amelia and it will use that other plugin's configuration for sending emails.

Let me know if this helped.

    Thank you Marija.

I have configured everything for a gmail email correctly - All of the below

    • SMTP Host – smtp.gmail.com
    • SMTP Port – 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
    • SMTP Secure – SSL, TLS or Disabled
    • SMTP Username – Your Gmail address
    • SMTP Password – Your Gmail password
    • Plus ALLOW less secure apps in the gmail account.

I am still getting the same error when I try to send notification test email. 'Error email not sent'.

I have tried configuring with different emails and all the different web options. Could you please walk me through a process to resolve this?

    You are welcome, Mikhailla.

Please try both of the options for Port/secure - 465 with SSL and 587 with TLS. Also, could you please check this with your hosting provider, as I explained in the previous answer - Sometimes using SMTP for some providers like Gmail or similar is not supported by the hosting/server. So you need to check this out with them as well, what configuration is needed for SMTP sending emails on your servers.

Let me know if this helped!

    Hi Marija,

How do I check what configuration is needed for SMTP to send emails on the server?
Both those options for the gmail with port/secure 465 SSL and 587 with TLS both didn't work.

    Hello Mikhailla,

Apologies for replying late, we don't work on weekends.

You need to check this with your hosting provider, to ask them if SMTP is allowed on your server and what configuration is needed.

Please let me know afterwards if this helped.

    Hi,
I have tried EVERY configuration possible and its still saying error. I even updated the website PHP to update to new wordpress but still nothing. This is getting frustrating as its an important part of the software for the client and pointless running it without this basic function. I have other clients wanting it too that I am holding off on because I am worried we won't sort it.

Can you login and see where the error is occuring?

    Hello Mikhailla,

Could you please tell me have you contacted your hosting provider about this? What configuration they told you to use for this purpose/sending emails through your server?

  • Mikhailla Maree Glossat replied

    Hello,

Yes I have - SMTP 465 SSL or TLS 587.
I've honestly tried SO many different ways and I'm convinced its a bug in your own system.
I've literally set up WP mail through GMAIL and a plugin and verified all that process which took a while but STILL get ERROR when I try to send test.

Then I've tried to run it through the private server email following the directions of the host - still error. Then I've tried the SMTP gmail instructions you provided - error. Everything is error and I've spent way too long on this. Is there something else that is counteracting it sending a test email?

    Hi Marija,

This has solved the problem replacing the file with the one you provided. Thank you!
Just a question - is there a way to send customers who've booked already (before the email notifications were working) a bulk email to confirm their appointments? and also a way to send their account login details?

    You are welcome, Mikhailla.

Glad to see the issue is gone!

Unfortunately, there isn't a possibility to send notifications from Amelia manually, they are sent automatically after some actions, you can only change the status of the appointments in the back-end and customers will get the emails, but if they are with status approved and you change it to some other status and then to approved again they will get notifications for both status changes.

If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to open a new ticket and we will gladly help.

    Hello Denis,

There was a conflict with the PHP version in one of the versions of Amelia but it was fixed in the update after this ticket, so some time ago.

If you have issues with email notifications please open a new ticket and we will gladly help out.
