    Dear Friend,

I'm using Amelia on the above site built on a customized wordpress theme. The site i pretty slow - particularly the Amelia plugin screens, woocommerce check out and backed (I finally had to buy and install another plugin called wp-rocket to achieve even the existing speed); also when booking appointments on the back end it almost always shows timing options that are not available;  and when we try to book it gives the real available timing.

    1. Can you advise why these delays are happening and if there is a way to fix these
    2. I sometimes feel creating a  new simple/light wordpress website and then installing amelia + woocommerce may be a way to fix this. If so can you kindly point me in a direction where I can find a simple (but elegant) theme that I can easily customize.
    3. Will it be easy for me to transfer my present ameila customers, employees, managers and appointments (already booked)
    4. I also find that despite logging in as amelia manager/employee the wordpress dashboard (blackbar) is not accessible

    Thank you for your help.
    Warm Regards,
    Sajan

    Hello Sajan Nair,

    1. Regarding speed issues of your website, as I mentioned in the other ticket when it comes to loading times for a website - this is mostly determined by:

    • Server performance
    • The amount of data on the page
    • Hosting
    • Internet
    • Local machine performance
    • Delayed requests

So, if your website is slow please check this with your hosting provider, maybe they can help out or suggest anything to change this behavior.

    2. Again the loading times depend on your server/hosting and the amount of data you have. So, you need to take this into consideration when building the website. Amelia uses admin-ajax calls that need response from your server, so its loading depends on your server's response time.

    3. The only way we can suggest is duplicating a website, using the Duplicator plugin, but in this case you duplicate everything that you have on your website to another one, not just Amelia.

    4. Could you please check if these users have only one Amelia user role in WordPress? And please let me know if the users have any other user roles in WordPress besides the Amelia ones ?

    Dear Marija,
Thank you for your kind/thoughtful responses. I agree with them and had been thinking on those lines and accordingly have rectified the issues in the following way:
    1. Server performance, hosting - Moved to a new server
    2. Internet - I already use a very fast internet
    3. Local machine performance - I already use a machine with a decent performance
    4. Delayed Requests - This should now be solved since the server has changed
    5. The amount of data on the page - There isnt much data

There is a positive difference in the performance now. However I'm a bit confused with the following and request your thoughts/guidance:
    1. Is there a challenge if an Amelia User has other word press roles? For example the WP Admin (myslef) is also an Amelia Manager
    2. Can I run Ameila without creating any word press users for Managers/Employees and Customers - will the system be faster and what functionalities may I have to let go of
    3. Can the customers, employees and managers access the system through the same panel
    4. If I'm going to build a new very simple wp-webstie to use Ameila, what options for a theme would you kindly suggest.
thank you in advance for your answers
    Warm Regards,

    Hello Sajan Nair,

Apologies for replying late, we are not working on weekends.

    You are welcome.

I am glad to see there is a positive difference in the performance now.

    1. You can add other user roles to Amelia ones using plugins for that purpose, like User role editor. But you shouldn't add Amelia role to a WP Admin user since they already have all permissions and access in your WordPress and in Amelia, so no need to add them some of the Amelia roles.

    2. You can, if you don't need Customers/Managers/Employees logging in to the back-end of WordPress. You can read more about the user roles here so you can see whether you need them as WP Users and if they need to login to the back-end or not. But if there aren't many of them, this shouldn't impact the performance of the website.

    3. If you are thinking about the front-end Customer panel, no, only customers can login to the panel. We are working on an Employee panel as well and it will be released in one of the future update of Amelia.

    4. I can't think of any themes to recommend, unfortunately, we usually test Amelia with the most used themes on WP to see if it is compatible with them. Divi, Avada, etc. It would be best to find a theme that suits your needs and test it with Amelia.

If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to open a new ticket and we will gladly help.
