We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
I'm using wpDataTables Version 2.8.1. (This issue is somewhat related to https://tmsplugins.ticksy.com/ticket/2398509.)
If a text field in an Excel spreadsheet (e.g. "Grade") has a leading space (e.g. " K, 1, 2,"), then filtering on " K" (space K) will NOT match this cell, but filtering on " 1" (space 1) will.
I should be able to uniformly search for leading spaces if they are there. This would allow users to reliably filter on " 1," and match " 1, 2, 3," but would NOT match "10, 11, 12," for example.
I'm working around this issue by recoding our grades with single quotes around them (e.g. "'1', '2', '3'"). So then users can search for '1' and match '1' but not '11'. Not ideal, but it gets us rolling again.
Hello Larry
I'm glad to hear you found the way around the issue.
Unfortunately, filters applied to string columns are working in alphabetical order, and it has its shortcomings, like the one you described, or number range (if you have numbers in a string column, 11 will come before 2 since in alphabetical order there's no numerical logic).
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković
