Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

Hi, I'm trying to create a table with 3 columns and 10 rows. I need to restrict the table so that each user can only see their own data. However, I also want to provide one column with pre-filled values that every user can see, as a guide to completion.

Column 1 contains category labels. This is the column that I want every user to see pre-filled. (Ideally they should also be able to change these labels, but I'm willing to sacrifice this if necessary.)

Column 2 and 3 are supplied empty for completion by the user. This generates a personalised chart below the table.

I also want admin to see and store all completed tables and charts.

How can I achieve this? I can't find a way to make individual columns visible to everyone.

    Thanks

    Hello Paul

You can create a table which has an integer column that will be used for User ID. Then, you can enable "Users see and edit only own data", and people would be able to see only their own data.

For the first column, you can add a predefined value. They will be able to change it, though.

So, they will only see their rows, but when they add a new row, or edit the existing one, they would only be able to do it with entries they've entered.

If you want to show specific columns to all users, you would need to combine the original table with an SQL Query based table. I'm not sure what you want to accomplish here, so if you could provide some more info about this, I'd be grateful.

    Hi Aleksandar,

Thanks for your reply. I've attached here a screenshot of the Excel version of the table I'd like to replicate on my site. The Values column should be constant for all users. When a user first logs in, they should see the Values column already complete but the Priority column should be empty, for them to fill. The Priority column should allow only the 4 validated responses in a dropdown (and maximum 20 "top 20" responses, max. 10 "top 10" responses, and max. 3 "top 3" responses).

    Does this make more sense?

    Thanks

    I see Paul

It would be rather difficult to add something like this, because you would need to duplicate the predefined entries for the first column as many times as you have WordPress users who will be editing this table. Then, next to each row you would need to assign the user ID of each user, so they can all see their copies of these rows. However, limiting the number of "Top 20", "Top 10" and "Top 3" is not possible in any way.

This would have to be done with some custom work, which is not included in the provided support for the plugin.
