I am trying to setup Google Maps within Amelia. When entering the API code of my Google Cloud for the correct domain, I get an error when entering the address in the settings in Amelia.
I've setup the API, created the payment account (now required) and created an open unsecured API. But your system refused the code with the error:
This page can't load Google Maps correctly.
I don't get it, as this is not really enough to figure out what's wrong. In the Google documentation they only explain inserting complete pages or code into a page. But I don't know how your system does it.
I can type the address and save it. But when going back in again, the address is not there. I don't know if it is saved. The field id empty. I also don't get any suggestions when typing (which I think should happen).
Not sure what I am doing wrong.
I attached the print screen of my Google API settings. I seem to get requests, but about 50% error out. Don't know why either.
I'm glad to hear you found the issue there, but I don't know how you can secure it.
I will forward the ticket to one of our developers, and as soon as I receive a response from him I'll let you know.
Can you please provide me wp-admin credentials, in case he needs to remote in and take a look at the plugin? You can leave them here, but make sure to enable the PRIVATE response, so they are visible only to us.
Sorry for the late response, I was out of office yesterday.
We could not see any issues in back-end - the address remains saved, and there are no errors in the console. There is nothing we see in back-end, that would cause this not to work as expected.
Unfortunately, I believe the only way for this to work correctly on your website would be to exclude the APIs
Don't know if this makes any difference, but I had the same "Oops" error as John shared in his screenshot. I'm using the HTTP referrers restriction to safeguard the API, just as John is trying to do. I solved it by switching the format of the Website Restrictions in the Google API credentials settings.
The suggested format they provide as a default in the text box is
*.example.com/*
However, that is for subdomains. For a single domain with no subdomains, use the format
example.com/*
Once I did this, and confirmed I installed all the APIs Aleksandar listed, it fixed the problem.

Hello John
Thank you for your purchase, and sorry for the inconvenience.
Please check if you have all these APIs enabled in Google:
Then, after you enter the Google Map API Key in General settings in Amelia, it should work.
Please let me know.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

Hi Aleksandar,
I have all 5 enabled.
I can type the address and save it. But when going back in again, the address is not there. I don't know if it is saved. The field id empty. I also don't get any suggestions when typing (which I think should happen).

How can I test this?
Cheers
John
I am getting this, after refreshing the page and editing the Company details again
That is the error I can see in the Consol. Does this tell you something?
js?key=AIzaSyDqE1ujs…places&ver=5.4.1:62 Google Maps JavaScript API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError
_.od@js?key=AIzaSyDqE1ujs…places&ver=5.4.1:62https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error

Okay, I got it. If I restrict the application, as recommended by Google, it throws the error.
I had it restricted to Http Referrers which cause the error.
I don't really want this to be open, as it now costs money top use this system. And I don't want it to be highjacked. Any ideas how to secure it?
