Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

My client has a service that is charged-for by the hour. Some people might want this service for one hour, some might want more hours (e.g. 2 to 8). How can I enable a particular service so that a customer can choose, at one time, more than a one-hour service time?

Similarly, she has a service that is charged-for by the eight-hour day - which is the same length as her business day. Amelia doesn't seem to allow any service to be set by the day, so I have no choice other than to indicate it being 8 hours. That's okay, but how do I allow a customer to choose, at one time, two or more days of this service?

    Hello Ian Bowden,

Apologies for replying late, Friday was a non-working day in our country and we don't work on weekends.

In Amelia services has set duration, and it can't be dynamically changed, unfortunately. So you can either create more separate services with different duration or create a service with several extras that would have different duration. So, for example, Service will have duration 1 hour, and Extra 1 duration 1 hour, Extra 2 2 hours, etc. so when customers book this service they will be able to choose one of the extras for the service and this way get the length of the appointment they want (service duration+extra duration). You can also set the price for the extras so the price will be calculated accordingly.

Yes, you would need to create the service to last for 8 hours to achieve this. There isn't a possibility for customers to choose more days unfortunately. That would be booking multiple appointments at once, and this isn't possible in Amelia with its current built-in features. Customers would need to book each day separately.

If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
