Is there a way to display a pre-filled table/spreadsheet to a front-end while enabling front-end editing and "users see and edit their own data"?

So basically it is a front-end-editable spreadsheet that is pre-filled with a start-up data that users will fill/edit and see just their own data.

    Like implementing this:
    https://wpdatatables.com/documentation/front-end-editing/allowing-users-to-edit-only-their-own-data/
but having a start-up data, not just the headers, but pre-filled cells.

    Hello Bob

    Thank you for your purchase.

You can add a predefined filtering value to any column. That predefined value will be applied to the table on front-end, but your users would still be able to change the filtering value.

If you don't want them to change it, I can help you hide the filters with some custom CSS, so they are able to edit only what is filtered, and displayed in the table.

    Would that work?

    Kind Regards,

I would welcome your help in getting this set up properly.

Here’s what i want to do:

    1. bodyfitfast.com has a coaching product.

    2. The product consists of 31 days coaching videos.

Dripped to the buyer 1 each day.

    3. Buyer views coaching video in members area and fills out
daily “progress diary) while watching daily video (see attached excel spreadsheet).

    4. Daily progress diary needs to be EASILY completed by user and updated data
needs to be saved and passed on to the next daily members area.

    day 1, day 2… day 30

    5. Right now your plugin is not easy for user to fill out. so we can’t use it.

    Hi Aleksandar,

Attached is the excel sheet format that we need for our users to fill out. Some table cells have to be pre-filled with string data. It does not matter if they can alter it or not, what we want is for them to have a starting point.

We need this while having the feature "Limit editing to own data only " switched on.

Whenever we switch this on, ALL pre-filled data on the cells we made disappear and it will start a blank sheet with just the headers.

    Hello Bob

Sorry, we don't work on weekends.

I'm afraid that the plugin will not be able to create a table like you've sent me in the Excel spreadsheet.

wpDataTables need to have a header for each column, and having the same rows repeat one after another for different dates (as columns) is not possible. You would either be able to have all days stored as columns, or have 5 different tables for each week.

When you're adding any data to a table with "Users see and edit only own data" feature enabled, the row which is being edited or added gets populated with the ID of a user who enters that info. This is why, when you add pre-filled data to the table - you can't see it while logged out. Only while you're logged into the account which filled the data would you be able to see that data.

To make it visible to all users, you would need to duplicate all rows as many times as you have customers.
