I have trying to create a table having connected to a MySQL database however when I select the table in the Table Creation Wizard, the columns are not displaying for me. I should have approximately 56 columns.
If you're pulling the data from a single table, why not use the first option (Create a table linked to an existing data source)? There you would choose SQL, and enter the query like:
SELECT * FROM yourDatabaseTableName
Are you going through the query constructor all the way?
