Hi, I like wpDataTables becouse of creating separate tables in sql - this is great, thank you.
Now I need to add front-end forms for adding and editing records. Your forms don't have valitation so I automatically turn my interests to Graviti Forms or Formidable Forms and your integration plugins.
And here is disappointment because I don't want to use wpdataTables only as tabele renderer for Gravity or Formidable. I don't want to use THEY database structure.
I want to create separate sql tables with wpDataTables and use Gravity or Formidable only as form renderer FOR wpDataTables. Is there any way to done it?
Unfortunately something like this is not possible. The add-ons allow you to edit Form entries, so wpDataTables adjusted to the Form plugins, not the other way around.
What you're looking for to achieve isn't possible without some serious custom work.
Unfortunately our developers are very busy at the moment, working on some priority tasks and fixing bugs and issues with our plugins, so they won't be having the time for custom work in near future.
But we can recommend these services for customization:
Hi, there is strong possibility that I buy this solution from wpkraken. This is university project so maybe this new plugin could became free for your community. But I need your help to write proper inquiry.
What will be the right course of action in opinion of wpDataTables?
1. Trying to use Gravity or Formidable as form for wpDataTable?
1a. If so, which one do you prefer?
2. Trying to extend wpDT built-in forms functionality?
3. any other propositions? Maybe you could use this new feature in the future.
1. Well, we've been able to enable editing for Gravity Forms based tables, while that is not possible with Formidable Forms based tables. On the other hand - Formidable forms allow using Foreign Keys, while Gravity Forms don't allow that in out tables.
1a. I personally don't prefer either of the two, since they are both excellent form plugins.
2. There's not much to increase other than what's mentioned in point 1. And also removing the issue of filtering/sorting/search for server-side Gravity tables.
