I am testing a new installation of amelia and cannot get the notifications working.
I have taken the settings diectly from therver hosting without success. I have also tried using gmail settings as described on the website, with the same result.
I'm not sure what reply you're referring to. There's more than one support agent, so if you wish to reference another ticket, please do so, so we're on the same page.
Amelia doesn't have any other settings, but the ones you find in Amelia Settings/Notification settings. It works pretty much like Outlook or Thunderbird. If the notifications don't work, there can be two reasons:
Hosting provider is blocking the SMTP settings
Wrong credentials are being used
Please reach out to your hosting provider, and ask them if the SMTP settings you're using are allowed, or they are blocking all 3rd party SMTP settings.
If they say everything is alright on their end, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.
You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
I have contacted the hosting company and they have done the update that you suggested. I have tested the notifications and it is working OK. Thank you for your assistance.

I need to get this working as soon as possible.
I have received your reply. However, I do not wish to use gmail, I only tried gmail as a test. I want to be able to use my own my server.
Thanks
