I have had Google G Suite and Siteground support try to help and we are all sure that the information we inputted into the notification settings are correct. I have set up the G suite settings to allow and TLS is supported on my domain. Though when i send a test email, it fails. It is urgent that this is set up quickly. Thank you in advance!
But my answers from there still apply. Please check if "Allow less secure apps" is enabled, and if that fails, there's something blocking the sending of the e-mails, as there are no further settings in Amelia other than Notification settings.
Okay, so I have decided to use WP Mail SMTP plugin and successfully connected to my business gmail then set Amelia to use WP Mail. And everything seems to work fine now. Is there any reason why I would want to figure out how to set up SMTP through Amelia?
WP Mail SMTP plugin actually overrides any potential SMTP blocks imposed by third service, and this plugin works in 90% of the time.
Amelia has pretty simple setup - you enter your crendetials, choose encryption and port, and that's it - like Outlook or Thunderbird. So, there's not much to it, and the only reason why it wouldn't work is it's either being blocked, or it has wrong credentials.
You can leave it at this, since WP Mail SMTP works.
Yeah I'm sure I wasn't doing something right, but I could not seem to get a Google or Siteground rep to figure it out. not sure what made me think to go through wordpress but it worked instantly.
One more question while I have you;
How can I limit a service to only accept multiple people for individual bookings without opening the time slot to people who don't know each other?
For example, I want a user to be able to add 2 or 3 additional people, but only if they know each other. I don't want someone to book a lesson then someone else be able to join the booking.
EDIT:
Not sure why, but I cannot set my buffer time to be less than 1 hour. I would like a buffer time of no more than 15 minutes so I can keep as many time slots available.
Please take a look at Amelia Settings/Appointment Settings:
We're looking at the second slider. If this is disabled, your front-end customers won't be able to submit a booking unless they fill in the minimum service capacity, but once they book for any capacity above minimum, the time slot will become unavailable for booking for others.
So, if this slider is disabled, it will basically do what you're asking, but if the minimum capacity is set to 1, after one person books an appointment, no one else will be able to book that appointment. They would still be able to add as many people as it is allowed by maximum capacity of that service.
To be able to add buffer time of 15 minutes, you need to go to General settings, and set the default time slot step to be 5 or 15 minutes.
I simply set up two services; 1 with single lessons as the base rate and then group lessons with a discounted rate with a minimum of 2 spots to fill to book. It has been fun figuring out how to get what I need out of this plugin.
I have successfully set up my Amelia plugin and accepted an order but I was not notified via email about the appointment. I just sent an email to [email protected] from my phone and it sent fine, so I know its not on my email end. I tried to send the same email a test notification - it said it sent successfully but I still did not receive it in my email.
I can try with your SMTP credentials locally, just to rule out any issues with Amelia here, but I can already guarantee that Amelia isn't at fault here.
If your credentials are correct, then there's either a firewall, security plugin, or something else that's not allowing emails to go through, or your hosting provider is blocking external SMTP's, as mentioned before.
Amelia doesn't have any other email settings apart from Notification settings.
If you want me to test your SMTP with Amelia, please provide that info here, and make sure to enable the Private response, so it is not visible to anyone else except for us.
I resoled the issue by settin gup a separate email for myself as an emplyee from the email I set up to send out notification emails. My employee email was an alias of the SMTP set up so I am assuming that was the problem.

Hello Coleman
I see this is a (bit more detailed) duplicate ticket to this one:

But my answers from there still apply. Please check if "Allow less secure apps" is enabled, and if that fails, there's something blocking the sending of the e-mails, as there are no further settings in Amelia other than Notification settings.

Could be, Coleman, but I don't believe so.
Just to be on the safe-side please check with your hosting provider which PHP version you have installed on your website?
If it's less than 7, please ask them to update the PHP version, and then test the original SMTP settings again.
