1. Is there a direct link to an event? In the moment I only have a list of events and the details fold down when I click on the title. Is there an option to open the event on a single page, or find a link in the backend to a single page which I can send to somebody or add e.g. to a Facebook event? That would be great if the employees want to promote their own events to their customers.
2. Is there a possibility to display the events on the frontend in a calendar view like in the backend? Are there any shortcodes for that?
You can use the single event shortcode to display a specific event. Something like [ameliaevents event=1].
These are all available Amelia Event shortcodes:
[ameliaevents] if you want to show list of all your events,
[ameliaevents tag=”name”] if you want to show just the events that belongs to the same tag defined during the creation of events, where “name” will be replaced with the tag name,
[ameliaevents event=1] if you want to show only the event with ID 1 without its recurring events,
[ameliaevents event=1 recurring=1] if you want to show the event with ID 1 with all his recurring events.
Unfortunately event's ID is not visible anywhere in the plugin's UI. You can see it, though if you add a Gutenberg block "Amelia Events View". On the right-hand side you will see the menu where you can choose a specific event:
I don’t use Gutenberg, but I do all pages with Elementor, so I need either shortcodes that work, or Elementor widgets. I imagine creating widgets for Amelia is some extra work, but shortcodes is good enough for now. It would be great to see the IDs in the bottom right corner of the browser by hovering the link in the backend, like with WP pages or posts.
At the moment, though, that is not possible, so accessing IDs is only possible through Gutenberg Block, or through database tables, as mentioned in the previous ticket.
With the shortcode [ameliaevents tag=”name”] is it somehow possible to only show the events from a certain employee? Maybe I need to write the name of the employee in the tag field? Or is there another shortcode for this?
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.
You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Turns out the issue is in our documentation. The "name" should actually be 'name' - so single quotes, not double quotes. I changed that on your website:
Is there any possibility your developers could manage to create a shortcode similar to this plugin where a calendar view of all the events is available for frontend?
The way these guys have done it does somehow make sense if you have a members plugin and want your employees not to use the backend, but to be able to create an event and see all the names of clients and also all the appointments does not make sense to present to the regular users.
Maybe a shortcode where we could choose what to show, but for me personally it would be enough to show only events where the user can see the description and details with a click and will be forwarded to a form when signing up.

Hi again Heinz.
Yeah, with that shortcode, you could show only the events that are being hosted by a certain employee.
Unfortunately, events don't have many shortcodes, and this is the only one you could use in this purpose.

Hi again Heinz.
Thank you for the credentials.
Turns out the issue is in our documentation. The "name" should actually be 'name' - so single quotes, not double quotes. I changed that on your website:
And it now works normally.
I also updated our documentation. Thank you.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Feature request: Frontend calendar for events
Is there any possibility your developers could manage to create a shortcode similar to this plugin where a calendar view of all the events is available for frontend?

Hello Heinz.
Thank you for sharing that with me.
I forwarded the ticket to our development team, so they can take it into consideration.
