I am having problems when trying to search a field that contains spaces between words. For example, when searching for "St Albans", there is a space between the words "St" and "Albans". This results in no matching records even though there are multiple entries for "St Albans"
You can test this by going to the URL I provided.
Enter "3000" in the House Number search box.
Enter "St Albans" with a space after the letter "t" in the Street search box.
Press "Search"
You will not get any results.
Now try the same search but only enter "St" with no space after the letter "t" in the Street search box. This search will return results.
How can I resolve this issue? This becomes a big problem since I have over 300,000 property addresses (will be adding many more soon). I need people to be able to enter a street that includes spaces when doing a search. As I'm sure you are aware, most street addresses are comprised of multiple words each of which has a space between them.
I suppose this is an SQL Query based table, correct? Can you please check if you enabled "Exact Filtering" for the Address column? If so, please try disabling it and test again.
If this doesn't help, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Also, please make sure to tell me what's the table's ID, so I know where to look.
Thanks for your help. It looks like I only had partial data in the "Street" column of the SQL database. I have updated and corrected the database, however, I am still having some issues with the search. I have confirmed that the "Street" column is NOT set to exact search.
For example, lets say the owner of the property at "3000 St Albans Mill Rd 101" is trying to search the database for their property. They would enter "3000" in the search field "House Number", but might enter any of the following in the "Street" field.
"St. Albans" - notice the "." after "St"
"Saint Albans"
"St Albans Mill Road"
"St Albans Mill Rd"
"St Albans Mill Rd #101"
"St Albans Mill Rd 101"
etc.
Is there a way to allow more flexibility in the search results so that when someone enter these near matches they don't get the "no matching records found".
The search filter can display only the results that are included in the table, and there is no way to make it search for synonyms in the table. Not with built-in features, at least.
It probably can be done with some custom work, but our developers are very busy at the moment, working on some priority tasks and fixing bugs and issues with our plugins, so they won't be having the time for custom work in near future.
But we can recommend these services for customization:

Hello Chuck
Thank you for your purchase.

Hi again Chuck
Unfortunately, no.
The search filter can display only the results that are included in the table, and there is no way to make it search for synonyms in the table. Not with built-in features, at least.

They do develop such solutions, so can you please send your inquiry to them?
