Hey there, Awesome Customers!
Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.
During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.
We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Catch you on the flip side!
Warm regards,
TMS
Can I do this, and if so, how?
1. Have a URL like this: https://www.acme.org/produce/fruit?wdt_column_filter[2]=oranges
2. On that page, there is a table and below it a wpdatareport button.
3. The variable 'oranges' gets picked by either var1, var2 or var3 (or otherwise indicated maybe in the url that var1= oranges https://www.acme.org/produce/fruit?wdt_column_filter[2]=oranges&var1=oranges )
4. The variable 'oranges' gets passed to the wpdatarereport, so I can make a heading at the top of the word document saying the report is about oranges.
Is any of that possible?
Hello Randal
1. You can pre-filter the table through URL, like mentioned in your question.
2. If you enabled "Follow table filtering" when you created the report, it will follow the filter given in the URL.
3. Variable placeholders are usually defined through the shortcode, if you want to change them. Otherwise, you would need to change them through URL like mentioned under 1.
4. Unfortunately, something like this is not possible, and would have to be done as a custom solution, which is not included in the provided support.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković
