DataTables warning after site migration

    Hi there,

i have got some problems with wpdatatables when syncing dev and prod sites.

Most of the time i am using wpmerge.io to pull my PROD site down to a DEV site. Everything seems works fine, but all my wpdatatables are getting the following error, even if there are no changes appield to any table:

DataTables warning: table id=table_1 - Invalid JSON response. For more information about this error, please see http://datatables.net/tn/1

I also get this problem when simply copying the site manually or with plugins like allinone wp migration.

Do you have any idea why this happens. It seems that all wpdatatables are migrated correctly. In the db table the entries between PROD and DEV are the same. Also in the wordpress backend the settings and everything is identical.

But this error appears and does not go away.

Only when i turn the "server side proccessing" off and on, the error dissappears. But with this also all settings of the table are gone.

This is really strange and bad because i cant use wpdatatables with this bug in prod environments at all at the moment. It would be too annyoing to reapply all settings to the tables manually after a merge.

Edit: Ok i found the solution by myself i think.

It seems that i forgot to migrate the wpdatatables_columns table, too.

When this table is empty, the error appears. After copying those values into the table. The error was gone. Now i just have to find out why the migration plugins are ignoring that table.

    You can close the ticket.

    Regards,

    Michael

    Hello Michael

Good call on wp_wpdatatables_columns table. That table contains all info about your existing tables, and that's why it broke.

If I may suggest using the Duplicator plugin when migrating the website. We use it and it's working fine, because it will transfer all the files and also the tables to database.

    Kind Regards,
