    Hello Wim Brinkers,

Could you please check again your Live Client ID and Live Secret on your PayPal account? You have Sandbox and Live credentials there.

Then in Amelia you have an option to enable/disable Sandbox mode:

So please check if you use Sandbox or Live mode and check whether you copy/pasted the right credentials from PayPal for this mode.

With PayPal there are only two ways where customers can make mistakes. First one is to use Live credentials when Sandbox mode is enabled, and second one it to copy wrong PayPal credentials (“Client ID” and “Secret”) to the fields in Amelia.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello Jose Jarque,

Since you have an open ticket for this issue we will proceed there. Thanks!

    Hello Laura,

Please check the answer that I sent bellow, as stated there, the only thing that can be mistaken in Amelia are the wrong credentials - if you have put Live credentials if Sandbox mode is on in Amelia and vice versa.

If you set the correct mode in Amelia (Live one or Sandbox one) and provided the credentials accordingly please contact PayPal for this issue, they can probably help out and check the credentials.

Also, send me a link to your page where you have Amelia so I can check out the error that you have in the console.

    Hello there!

    I found the issue.

    And why it's confusing.

There are two ways, yes, two, to get live id client and secret - under PayPal account (paypal.com) > settings > account access >  API access  - where you can create API client and secret details too.

On WooCommerce you will use your normal account, for Amelia Booking plugin you use the developer.paypal.com account -

https://developer.paypal.com/'  - not your normal PayPal account

there on the developer site you can create your sandbox and live APIs as Amelie booking plugin details need - the other versions doesn't work and that why the error of 'Sorry, there was an error processing your payment. Please try again later'

All confusing, as normal PayPal settings for e-commerce use the other account, not the developer one.

All fixed and working now, thanks!!

Is it me? I’ve seen the instructions for this integration sent out many times with the remarks “all the instructions for PayPal integration are in here...”

I see the sandbox instructions but I’m either crazy or the regular live PayPal setup instructions are not included?

how do you set the live part? I don’t care about sandbox and it’s the only thing referenced?

Please for the love of good someone call me out on my stupidity!

    Hello Phill,

Please open a new ticket for any issues/questions you might have in the future and we will gladly help. Thank you!

The instructions in our documentation are for Sandbox, but it is the same for Live credentials, you just need to go to the API you created in your PayPal account and you will see a switch for Sandbox and Live credentials there, so you can choose the one you want to use:
