i have a feature request which in my opinion would heavily increase the number of use cases for which wpdatatables could be used.
It would be great, when creating a table, i could use some kind of placeholder like the shortcode placeholders, but not get them from the shortcode itself, i need to get it out of the URL.
So for example, i open a page/url with a table like this:
Thank you for your suggestion. We carefully follow customers requirements and try to implement most of them if they appear in requests from time to time, so we will add this to our idea list and look into some possible solutions on plugin side in the future.
At the moment, you can define %VAR1%, %VAR2% and %VAR3% in Placeholders tab above the table, and use it in the query to filter the table with it. Also, I believe you know you can add a shortcode like [wpdatatables id=1 var1=90], and pre-filter the table like that.
Hi there,
i have a feature request which in my opinion would heavily increase the number of use cases for which wpdatatables could be used.
It would be great, when creating a table, i could use some kind of placeholder like the shortcode placeholders, but not get them from the shortcode itself, i need to get it out of the URL.
So for example, i open a page/url with a table like this:
www.mypage.com/sitewithatable/?wdt_placeholder=99
then i could use %placeholder% in the sql query of the datatable.
I know i could use /?wdt_column_filter[1]=99, but for huge tables this is just applied as a filter and the performance is not good for that.

Michael
Hello Michael.
Thank you for your suggestion. We carefully follow customers requirements and try to implement most of them if they appear in requests from time to time, so we will add this to our idea list and look into some possible solutions on plugin side in the future.
