Is there a way for wpDataTables to sort a column based on the title of the page on a wordpress page? I'd like to sort the Team column by the name at the top of the page, in the related URL's case, Alabama. Is this possible?
Hello Ryan.
Thank you for your interest in our plugin.
If the data exists in the column, it can be sorted by that data. However, it can't be done automatically, if that's what you meant to ask. The plugin cannot recognize the title of the page, and sort the table by that value.
What you can do, though is add pre-defined filtering values for each individual page via URL and apply it to every page. Or, you can add a placeholder for the column, then in the shortcode, replace the placeholder. You can see how it's done in our documentation.
It's cumbersome, I know, but at the moment, the only way possible to achieve that.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković
