Hey everyone!
With the holiday season upon us, we want to share our upcoming working hours:
- New Year: Our team will be off on January 1st and 2nd. We’ll be back on Friday, January 3rd, to respond to any messages received during this time.
- Weekend: As usual, we don’t work on weekends, so January 4th and 5th will also be non-working days.
- Orthodox Christmas: Our office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, January 6th and 7th for the holiday.
After that, we’ll return to our regular schedule and assist you as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find tons of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel), which might just have the answers you need while we’re away.
Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!
Warm regards and happy holidays!

Hi:
wpDataTables look great to me for my application using PHP to create tables or charts from live data obtaining from PHP. But I do not know where is the PHP API for wpDataTables.
Would you please point me documentation or examples ?
Thanks.
---Ning Jiang
Hello Ning Jiang
Thank you for your interest in our plugin.
There's no PHP API, but if you need to pull the information from an API or any other internet resource, you need to create a Serialized PHP Array which will serialize all the necessary data which wpDataTables can unserialize and read.
The format of the serialized array should be the following: 2D-array, where the parent level is an indexed array, and the second level is an associative array. Parent array entries will be parsed as rows, child array keys will be parsed as column headers, and child array values as cell values.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

Aleksandar:
Thanks. I just need one example of HTML to create a table or chart because I can use PHP to achieve same result. Can you please also point me the HTML documentation for all features ?
Thanks in advance.

Aleksandar:
Or, maybe "Serialized PHP Array" is the only available integration method for developers ?
You mentioned:
"Parent array entries will be parsed as rows, child array keys will be parsed as column headers, and child array values as cell values."
Can you point me doc for column entry
My application is to create tables and charts through on-the-fly data using PHP program. Either semi-manual (creating table interactively, then hooking up PHP for data feed) or fully automation (all tasks are done through PHP program) is fine with me. Just need to know what is available and where is the documentation.
Thanks in advance.

Hi again Ning Jiang.
We don't have an example for your specific use-case.
You can see the example in our documentation, and debug it to see how it was used to pull the data from WordPress. You need to prepare your own custom code to fetch the data from your API, and I cannot help you constructing that.
The data would be dynamic when you do that, so all changes in the API will be seen in the table, once you create it.
Kind Regards,
