I would like to know if this plugin has the ability to only allow certain users to only add entries but not edit or delete them? If not, will you be able to assist with this functionality?
You can limit editing per user role, but restricting users to only add new data, without being able to edit or delete anything cannot be done like that.
There's a way to simply hide the Edit and Delete buttons, so no one would be able to perform those actions, and that's done through CSS. You can take a look at our FAQ section, to see how it can be done.
Thanks, this worked perfectly. I have another issue now. On the front-end, the "New Entry" button does not work in Chrome or any other browser. Could you please help me with this?
wpDataTables is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) concept based plugin. This means that the table should look the same both in back-end and in front-end. If your front-end table looks and behaves differently than in back-end, this usually implies that there is another plugin (or the current theme) that's changing the behavior of our plugin.
Issues like this usually occur when there is a conflict either with the theme currently active on your website, or another plugin you have installed.
Can you please change the theme and see if the issue is resolved? If not, then please deactivate all other plugins except for wpDataTables, refresh the page where the issue is, and see if it is resolved (it should be). If it is, then start activating other plugins one by one, and after each activation refresh the page to see if the issue reoccurred. Once it does reoccur, you will have found the plugin causing the issue.
