German translation not working as expected

    Dear ladies and gentlemen,

I recently purchased the Amelia booking plugin and configured it as per documentation (as far as i'm aware).

The problem i'm facing currently is, that there seem to be some strings that are not at all, or only partially, translated (See attached screenshot).

In the first line, the original english string is "Please select service" with a translation of "Bitte wähle ein Angebot" according to the .po and .mo file. But this german translation isn't shown, it's "Bitte wähle service", where the first half is translated correctly, but not the second part.

This is also true for "any employee" -> "Jede/r employee" (employee isn't a german word, should be "jede/r Mitarbeiter".

Service and employee are just not translated at all.

Please let me know if you have any idea how to resolve this.

I'm running WordPress 5.2.4 with the mesmerize theme.

    Best regards,

    Ernst

    Hello Ernst.

    Thank you for your purchase.

We have "Labels Settings" integrated in Amelia. They are used when you want to change the default words "Employee" and "Service" to better fit the services you offer (so it could be "masseur" instead of "employee" and "massage" instead of "service" - for example).

When you translate WordPress to German, the plugin is also translated, but these two strings remain with what ever value is stored in "Labels Settings". Please go to Amelia Settings/Labels Settings, and simply turn them off. After that, when you refresh your page it should be displaying what it finds in the .po file.

    Kind Regards,

    Hello Aleksandar,

Thank you for your solution! I did as you suggest, and it did something, although not entirely what i expected:

It still isn't using the string defined in the .po file (kindof). As can bee seen in the screenshot, some of the text is now translated, some still isn't. I don't know if this is a problem with amelia or with my specific configuration and i'm sorry if i'm missing something obvious (again).

I fixed this by changing the strings in JS. For me the problem is fixed, but i thought i let you know in case it should come up again.

    Thanks again and best,

    Ernst

    Hello again Ernst.

Well, that should've been resolved with deactivating the Labels settings. Another option is that there is an instance of "service" in the .po file which isn't translated.

I can take a look if you can provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
