I've set up Amelia on my site after purchasing the plugin, to find out that there is no customer front end, which is very annoying. So, I've now set it up so that I have a log in section to get customers to the backend. Here is where all my problems start.
1. I have it set that when a customer makes a booking, they are set up as a Wordpress User. This should send them a password, correct? It doesn't. It just sends them an email saying their booking has been approved.
2. The backend. OH DEAR. So I log into the backend as a pretend customer. The first thing I see all over the screen is wordpress messages that should be for admin only. Then, they are on their profile page. There are NO instructions as to what a new customer should do. How does a customer know what AMELIA is? How do they know to go to the menu and look at appointments? Why do they need to see the events section? WHY ARE THEY GIVEN THE OPTION OF GOING TO THE ADMIN DASHBOARD WHERE MESSAGES ABOUT THE SITE ARE DISPLAYED FOR ADMIN?!?!?
The customer facing section of this plugin is an absolute mess, and it is embarrassing presenting this to customers. How can you release a plugin in an incomplete state like this? It should be made clear before purchase what the limitations of this plugin are. IN NO WAY should a customer have access to the backend of a website!
I'd like to know if there are fixes for these issues, or if this front end view you have been working on for MONTHS will ever appear, otherwise I will be asking for a refund, as this just isn't good enough.
The customer console should be released in a few weeks. We're finishing it at the moment.
1. Did you enable the first option in Roles settings/Customer?
If you did, the plugin will create a new user with Amelia Customer user role. As you can see in the pop-up - they will receive an automatic e-mail with log-in details.
If you simply opened the booking page and added customer information, that isn't enough.
2. When you log into WordPress as a customer you should see only this:
When there's an appointment scheduled for that customer, they'll see it in the Calendar (see attachment).
So, if you created Amelia Customer properly, you should only see this. They can access the calendar, the appointments and events they signed up for, and nothing else. You can choose to allow them to reschedule their appointments (as seen in the first screenshot I shared with you), but that is all.
If you can see all admin options from back-end, you either didn't log in as the customer, or you assigned a different user role to the customer.
I can take a look if you're willing to provide me with WP-admin credentials. That’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Let's please keep it professional, I'm here to help.
Yes, I did set up the roles correctly first. And the email settings. And when I made a pretend booking, I received a booking confirmation email, but not an email with login details.
The screenshot you supplied below with Dashboard, Profile and Ameilia IS shown, but so are wordpress system messages across the top of the screen, and the customer CAN click on the dashboard menu option. If I had just registered with a company and logged in, looking at those options presented, I would click on Dashboard, as to ME, the customer, Amelia means nothing to me - I don't know that it is a booking system.
Then, once clicking on Dashboard, they will be presented with system messages about recent additions to the site, and news from Wordpress. I would prefer if the customer did not access this, as it does not appear professional.
You say that the customer cabinet will be ready in two to three weeks? Is this 100% going to happen? My client needs to know immediately, as she is a hairdresser, and the next two months with Christmas are her busiest months, especially for cancellations, so it is imperative that this aspect of the plugin works asap.
You should've received the e-mail with log-in credentials - have you checked Spam and Junk folders?
As for the customer cabinet - it is not going to be included in the upcoming update which is going to be released this or next week; but it will be included in the one after that. When I say "one after that" I mean a major update, because if there are some bugs in the next release, we may be pushing a smaller update to fix any potential issues.
If everything goes according to plan, and there are no set backs, the customer cabinet will be released in the next 30 days (could be less, could be more). Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that since there are always potential conflicts, bugs and stuff like that which may be slowing down the release. Those are rare situations, but they do happen, and I don't want to give you any promises we may break unintentionally.
