This is strange since I see the strings in the .po file in the Languages folder - English language.
Could you please try translating the strings/Amelia using Poedit and see if these strings will be present while using Poedit. You can translate using Poedit following these instructions:
1. Download the Amelia plugin from our TMS Store or from the email that you receive when you purchase our plugin and save the .zip file on your computer (make sure that it is the same version of Amelia as you have)
4. After that open the program and open the file from the extracted folder on your computer ameliabooking/languages/en_US/wpamelia-en_US.po.
5. Translate all the strings on your language.
6. Save the file as it suggests to you (the language code; for example wpamelia-id_ID.po if your language is Indonesian) and it will be generated new wpamelia-id_ID.mo file. Find your language code here.
7. Go to ameliabooking/languages/ folder and make new folder and call him as language code for your language (in our case for Indonesian is id_ID) and then copy these two files called wpamelia-id_ID.po and wpamelia-id_ID.mo and then copy hole folder id_ID back to your website in the location ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/.
Of course, you will use the language code for your language (we use Indonesian language and his language code is id_ID just as example)
I have updated the file and indeed did find the translation strings I was looking for. Only thing I did different from your step by step guide: find the NL (Dutch) language files and went from there. That saved me a ton of translations, compared to starting from the English one.
Yes, we had one of the translations to Dutch, the Belgian Dutch as I can see in the Languages folder. I don't know how much they differ
When you finish the translation it would be nice of you if you could send us the translation, so we can add it to Amelia and you won't need to add it manually after each update.

See attached zip file for the nl_NL translations. POEDIT tells me there's one translation that is technically incorrect: % of load. This cannot be translated, since % alone is invalid.

I'm from Holland and I've noticed that not all (front-end) strings can be translated (using Loco Translate).
Would it be possible to add the following (event) strings:
- Book this event
- Number of persons
- Open
- Closed
- Cancelled
