    Hi,

We want to take an initial booking fee/deposit from our customers when they book with either

a/ the rest taken upon finalising the job or

b/ the service provider taking payment upon finalising the job.

Can either of these be done?

    Hello Tania & John,

Unfortunately, there isn't an option for making deposits (combining online and on-site payment option) in Amelia at the moment.

You can make, if that would be useful for you, a new separate service 'Deposit for Service' and this can have online payment option and the service would have the on-site payment option, but they can't be connected/depend on each other (their finances can't be connected) in any way.

Deposits is a feature that we have in our to-do list and we will work on it for one of our future updates, but I can't say exactly when it will be implemented.

If you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask,

What if the service shows the deposit amount and the full amount is notated in the body of the service details? The card they used to book the service will it retain on file so the client can go back and charge the remaining amount of that service?

    Hello Tiffany,

This was the other option that crossed my mind. You can do it like that, but you will not have the information for the full amount paid for the service in the finance section or anywhere in Amelia (you can calculate it manually by yourself deposit amount (which would be the price of the service) + the price stated in the 'Description' section of the service = total price of the service).

But if this is not that important to you (to have this information in the Finance section) then yes, it is possible to do it like that.

If you have any other questions or concerns please open a separate ticket and we will gladly helpsmile.png

Ok, but will that customer's credit card information be stored under that account for the charge of the remainder?

Thanks for your reply Marija and your suggestion Tiffany, this could work initially just to get us running until another option becomes available.

    Hello Tania & John,

    You are welcome!

I thought the first option through a little bit more, and it would definitely require more work, since you can't book two services with one employee at the same time (so you would need to make another 'dummy' employee) so if Tiffany's suggestion suits your needs you can try that one out first. But again, you will not have the total amount (the full price) shown in the service/finance section all-together. You will have the deposit of the service as the price of the service and in the description of the service a note with the full amount of the price of that service.

If you have any further questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask,

    Hello Tiffany,

You can't charge the remainder through Amelia payment options - since this would be on-site payment - on-site meaning offline, when the customer comes to the appointment.

There are two payment options in Amelia -

on-site - If you allow the on-site payment method, your customers will be able to pay for booked appointments in cash when they come to the appointment. If all other payment methods are disabled, this method will be enabled by default.

and online while booking using PayPal, Stripe or WooCommerce integration if you want.

If you have any other questions or concerns please open another / new ticket (your own) and we will gladly help out and clarify any concerns,
