I have created a table that connects to a MySQL database. It connects successfully and I can see the content. However, when I attempt to create and entry and write back to the database I get the following message:
There was an error trying to insert a new row. Table xxx does not exist. I have edited the wp-config file with the relevant information.
If I understood you correctly - you connected a separate database, correct?
If that is true, when you're creating a table you have a drop-down to select the database:
If you're still having issues with it, can you please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
