I would like to know how we can manage amelia appointment times only in Google Calendar?
For example, if an amelia appointment time is changed, we would update the time in google calendar and it would free up the time slot on the website booking form without us updating inything in Amelia back-end?
Basically, how to synchronize google calendar and amelia completely?
When you update the appointment in the google calendar, that appointment (time of it) should be updated in the amelia plugin and vice versa.
The only thing that can not be seen in the Amelia calendar is if you create a Google Event, but the time slots will be disabled for that event from Google in our plugin.
For some reason, when we do our tests, what you mention :
"When you update the appointment in the google calendar, that appointment (time of it) should be updated in the amelia plugin"
is not working.
For example, if an appointment has been booked at 4pm on our website via Amelia, it feeds well Google Calendar at the right time slot. However, when we change the time in Google Calendar (from 4pm to 5pm for example), it will not update the Amelia appointment time within the wordpress plugin calendar. It still shows 4pm and is not in line with Google Calendar anymore
This 2 way synchronization feature would actually be a must for us.
Can you please therefore let us know if
1- there is a workaround (API, zapier or similar integration, specific development with WPKraken ...) to make that happen now?
2- there is a date for the full 2 way synchronization to be live in the standard Amelia version?
If we can not have these two ways sync, I am afraid we will have to find an alternative to Amelia as it will be too much manual entry (Google Calendar + Amelia Plugin) for our front desk assistants.
Unfortunately Zapier and Zoom integrations are in plan to the future updates of the plugin.
As for the full 2way sync this is also a top priority but it is not easy as it looks to implement this, we also did not find any other plugin that ca do this at the moment.
But we can recommend this service for customization: https://wpkraken.io/?tms-plugins (by this link they would know you come from us) - they do develop such custom solutions, could you please send your inquiry to them?
I am thinking of a workaround which would be to keep the slots available when there is an appointment booked in Amelia but only block the slots busy ion google calendar.
Basically, we would still shoa Amelia Calendar busy slots as available when somebody wants to book an appointment.
Ok if you want to block the slots from the google calendar, you can check this link and on that link you will see this topic
Remove Google Calendar Busy Slots
Enable this option if you want to remove the busy slots in your employees’ Google Calendars from their work schedules in Amelia. When enabled, time slots from the Amelia Calendar will be removed whenever there is an event in the Google Calendar.
Please note: In order to use 2-way Google synchronization properly your employees should set statuses of the events in their Google calendars as Busy. In that way, time slots occupied by those events will be removed from Amelia calendar.
So it there is a busy slot in the google calendar that slot will not be able to be booked in our plugin.
As for the blocking slots for our plugin you can set a default appointment status to Pending, and then you can manually change it , or to increase the capacity for that service.
My issue is not with blocking slots when they are busy in Google Calendar. This is ok for me. It works very well
I want to allow booking (i.e. show the time slots in the choices) when a time slot is busy in amelia calendar but not in google calendar.
I have tried your recommendations: "As for the blocking slots for our plugin you can set a default appointment status to Pending, and then you can manually change it , or to increase the capacity for that service." And it seems that it does not leave the time slot available at this time.
Basically, what I want is, in the case of an unique employee, to still show as possible the time slots of upcoming events that are saved in the amelia plugin and we can see in Dashboard / Upcoming appointments for this employee.
Or even better, not to save anything in Amelia Upcoming Appointment or Amelia Calendar when there is a new booking so all slots remains available unless they are busy in Google Calendar.

Hi Florent,
Sorry for misunderstanding.
When you change the appointment time in the Google calendar, then you will need manually to change the time in our plugin as well.
That is the 0.5 missing being full 2way synchronization that we are looking to improve in the future versions.
Best regards.

HI Flo,
Sorry to disappoint you but unfortunately this is not possible.
Every Appointment or Event will be added to the calendar once the customer booked it, even if it is pending or approved.
Best regards.

Its been 5 years already, and I can definitely see another plugin (Booknetic) that offers true 2-way Google calendar sync.
I like Amelia's features from what I see, BUT this is a real deal breaker for us.
I need this in 2 of my websites, one for Yoga lessons and another for Personal Training.
Is this feature completely abandoned?
