I am having the same problem. I thought I had setup something incorrectly. The categories I have are hair, nails, facials, etc but the individual services are the ones that show and category is not an option.
Sorry for the inconvenience, this is a small bug that we fixed for the update. If you want I can send you a patched version of the plugin so you can update it and not have any problems.
I can patch a code for you if you want.
Michelle can you please open a new ticket where you will be the owner so we can help you out.
Ok we inspected this issue with duplicating the categories.
After you duplicate the categories , can you please check if the employees are assigned to the new services in the duplicated category ( if not please assign the employees)
Then go to employee page and check the working hours for that employees that are assigned and add the new services in the working hours.

The shortcode [ameliacatalog category=x] does not work properly, all services of all categories are displayed.

Amelia displays ALL services, but when you click on 1 service which should not be there you get an empty page... :(
