I have ended up with three instances of the wpdatatables plugin in my WordPress installation, due to me not following the installation instructions properly. How can I get rid of the ones that I do not need without losing the tables I have set up?
I have attached an image that shows the three instances.
My suggestion is to update the plugin manually by following these steps:
You can download premium version form email that you get when you make this purchase(some hostings treat it like a Spam so please check your Spam folder as well). Also, you receive email with credentials for our store https://store.tms-plugins.com/login where you can download premium version.
1.) Download zip from our store or from email that you receive when you make purchase
2.) Use FTP to open /yourwordpressfolder/wp-content/plugins
3.) Delete all existing wpdatatables folders.
4.) Upload previously downloaded wpdatatables folder through FTP to plugins folder (unzip it)
5.) Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.
6.) Deactivate wpdatatables Plugin, and then activate it again.
7.) Clear server and browser cache
Like this you will have only one wpadtatables folder on your server and your tables in databese will be untouched.
Hi, Milan. Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, that only removed one of the two extra plugin entries, as you can see on the attached screen capture.
I completely deleted the two wpdatatables folders that were in the plugins folder via FTP, and then copied the new folder into the plugins folder, so I am certain that there is only one wpdatatables folder now. Also, the version number of the active plugin is now v2.6.1 which is higher than what I had before.
Do you have any other suggestions for getting rid of the v2.3.2 plugin entry?
Then I suppose that you have one more wpdatatables on your server but with different name. Can you please access in all your plugins one by one via FTP and check are they have file wpdatatables.php in it. Also, you can take a screenshot of all your plugin on server(over FTP) so we can see all names of the plugin folders on your server.
Hi, Milan. Sorry for the delay in replying. We had a folder starting with "codecanyon" in our plugins folder that was really a wpdatatables folder. I deleted the folder, and now everything seems fine.
You are welcome. I am glad that now everything is working fine.
If you have any more issues or questions feel free to open a new ticket, we will gladly help.
I’d like to ask you a favor. Would you mind taking a few minutes to write a review for us, please on this link?
Our free version is the only place where we can have proof for our hard work; your comments are beneficial for others to know what to expect when they’re looking for our plugin.
Thank you in advance. It means a lot to us, and I am looking forward to reading your comment.
