How to customize Amelia for room&venue booking business

    Hello!

We're in the process of kicking off a b2b room and venue booking service, and the Amelia plugin seems to have most of the requirements we need for our MVP phase, so we're definitely considering a purchase within a week or two.

However, I'd like to ask for some recommendations about how we can best customize the Amelia UX for our specific business with the least amount of coding work. Basically, we don't book employees. We book rooms and venues. The rooms and venues are categorized by location.

Naturally, we'd like our clients to see a UI that doesn't list "Conference Room Azure" as an "employee". Seeing it as a "service" is borderline acceptable I think, at least in the MVP phase. :) And so far I'm not quite certain which way it would be best to shoehorn our domain into your data model. Could you give us a few pointers?

    Thanks a lot! ;)

    Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.

I am not quite sure whether our plugin is suitable for your use case, but it would be great if you could provide me more information about your specific use case, I will be more than glad to answer to all questions and tell you whether our plugin is suitable for you.

If you need multi-days booking for the rooms than I must say that at the moment we don't have option for services to last multiple days so you wouldn't be able to customize and use our plugin like you need. If on the other hand, you need time slot bookings in one day then our plugin is for you. As for the venues, if these venues as something like events, then you can use our Event booking to show the venues (events can last multiple days).

As for the employee selection, I suppose that you need to allow booking of different rooms at the same time so you would need to connect each room to different 'employee'. In that case employee selection would be visible but you can hide it with a simple CSS that our technical support can send you. However, each employee has his own email in the back-end, which is mandatory field, so you would need to have different emails for each or you would need to use google or outlook mail and to set +number for the same email so you can save different employees with the same email. In that case all emails would go to the same email but plugin would see those emails as different ones (+1, +2, +3 etc. before @).

Other option for you would be to create different services like "1 hour booking", "2 hours booking" etc. and to create rooms as employees. Labels are changeable easily.

    Best regards.
