Some years ago I bought a version of wpdatatables. I created beautiful tables.

When I updated all my wordpress plugins at once I suddenly ended up with having the light version of wpdatatables, which could not handle my beautiful tables.

I  bought a full version wpdatatables in order to update that light version. I succeeded in downoading the zip file. But when I try to install it it gives an error saying that a certain file already exists. That is probably the file location of the light version. I am hesitant to remove the light version files because I want to be sure that my beautiful tables are not lost.

Question: Do I have to remove the light version before installing the full version I just bought and how can I be sure that the tables I created in the course of the last couple of years are not lost.

    Hello Frank.

    Thank you for your purchase.

I am not sure how you ended up with the Lite version. If you purchased the plugin some years ago through Envato marketplace, you should still have a lifetime license, and there was no need to purchase the plugin again, unless you wanted to extend the support.

Anyway, both the Lite version and the Full version are located in ../wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables folder in your FTP. To update from Lite to Full, simply delete that folder and replace it with the folder you get when you unzip the wpdatatables.zip file. So, do not delete it from Plugins section, but instead delete the folder in your FTP.

You should then automatically get the updated version, and all your tables will remain intact.

If you're not sure how to do this, please provide me a temporary WP login and FTP access for your website, and I can do that for you. Just make sure to enable the PRIVATE reply, since the ticket is public, so it is only visible to us.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,
