I am wondering about the space above the booking on my pages. On some locations it is small and just has a little colored area. On other pages it is huge and awkward.
At one time the image of my location would be in this area but it stopped and hasn't returned.
This area feels like a waste of space. Can I put an image into it to make it more appealing? Or can I just make the spaces uniform so that the appearance is better?

Yes this is the place where the picture should be.
You can insert a new picture or use CSS to set the background image to none
.amelia-app-booking #am-service-booking .am-service-gallery{
background-image: none !important;
}
and the result will be like this (attachment )

That CSS worked great. However, it did not help the space that is above it.
How do I reduce the space. As it is presently, it is really awkward and large.
Also, if I did want the image, how would I make sure the image works and does not just create a large blank space?

Can you change the code to look like this
.amelia-app-booking #am-service-booking .am-service-gallery{background-image: none !important;
min-height: 100px !important;
}
Probably you deleted that image from the media folder or for some reason is not displaying.
You can add the image in the gallery of the service ( attachment)
but then you will need to remove the CSS code that I sent you because the display is set to none.
