On your recent update you have brought out events which I am really happy about. However, it's not clear how to get the best out of this system. My ideal is to have a landing page for a event that I intend to host in a salon which isn't my primary facility. I'd like to make it very easy for the salon on question to go to a particular landing page and book for that event on the given day.
It would be good to see some documentation of how you see or best way to use events in order to drive the right clients to the right day for the event bookings.
I'm not too sure I understand what you're asking me here.
You can create an event, and add it to a specific page, so it is only available on that page.
I invite you to take a look at our documentation, and also a good showcase may be found on https://sports.wpamelia.com/. There you can find the back-end and front-end examples.
If you're asking about an event, you can create an event that lasts from 00 - 24:00, and in that way they do not get to choose the timeslot.
If, on the other hand, you're asking if you can do this for appointments, then I'm sorry to say that unfortunately this feature is not implemented in the plugin's built-in features.
Yea when i created an event, although I can invite people to book in for the event, what it doesn't allow is those people to choose a time slot from what is available. That would be really good if the 16 places and half an hour appointments that are available people can choose their preferred time.
Otherwise you have to manually arrange that with all the people looking to book.
I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand - do you want them to choose the time slot when the event will occur, or do you want them not to be able to choose the time slot?
Yeah I would like those interested in the event to be able to book their timeslot within the event.
So if the event runs 9am to 6pm and there are 30min appointments, I'd like the customer to purchase a slot and a time that they would like to visit the event.
I am sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately having appointments within an event is not possible with the plugin's built in features.
There is a way to create something similar, though.
You would need to delete all working hours for the employee that'd work on this, and then add "special days" to that employee:
Then, you can edit the service, so the duration is 30 minutes. This way, you have a special day which would work as an Event, but would have actual time slots for customers to book.
It'd be displayed as a standard appointment. The special day is an employee setting, so you can configure special working hours for the employee, outside of their regular working hours.
It doesn't make any difference to the customer - it is seen as a standard appointment.
Okay, that's a shame. Hopefully you look to give people to make a booking on an event in the future. It would be much better so that those interested in the event can book their preferred slot.

Yeah you've managed to hit the nail on the head even though you are unsure.
The only thing I can see that's missing is the shortcode required to show show the event?
I'd like on the landing page to just show the event booking options ignoring the other ways to book?
Does that make sense?
Apologies I have found it.
Thank you for your time.

The styling on my event page isn't the same as what is on the documentation?

What is wrong with the styling?
In google chrome the styling doesn't work right... I'm on Mac Chome

Hello Laura, hello Ryan.
Not a problem, Laura, glad you found it. If you have any further questions, please feel free to open a new ticket, and we'll gladly help.
Ryan, can you share what you see with me, because I see it's appearing good:
It looks pretty much the same as in our sports page:
It's just that we have more events there, so the "Event type" search box is added on top.
Best regards.

ummm it looks like it got stuck in my cache.
The event system is pretty good however, can the person signing up not select a time slot for their appointment?

Oh ok that's a shame.
In terms of your suggestion, how would the user be aware of this special event? How would it be advertised?

Hello again Ryan.
Yeah, we will add it to our "to-do" list, and it should be implemented some time in the future.
There are quite a lot of feature requests, so I cannot give you an ETA. What I can promise, though, is that we'll keep it in mind.
Best regards.
