Tables constantly losing all information

I am creating tables with Google sheets as the data source. Once the table is created I will start changing the individual column settings. Sometimes it will take 1 setting to happen, and sometimes it will take 20. It happens after clicking apply, the loading animation will continue indefinitely. Once I realize it will never load, I go back to the list of tables. The table is still listed, but once opened, it will ask for input data source type again. Attempting to select any option will not yield a new field to input a link and the apply button will remain greyed out. The only thing I can do is delete the entire table and start from scratch, only to have this whole process happen again. I bought this plugin yesterday and I am very excited about the possibilities, but this problem is infuriating.

After more playing around with it. This problem seems to be triggered by setting filtering to number range and using the number range slider. A feature that I do not want to go without

    Hello hcarrig.

    Thank you for your purchase.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the number range slider. I have tried to replicate the issue on my end - create a table linked to a Google Spreadsheet, and apply the number range filter with range slider active for an integer column, and it's working without issues.

Can you send me the link to the Google Spreadsheet you're using, so I can try it on my end (if you don't have any sensitive data in it, of course), or even better - please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Aleksandar,

Thank you for the reply. I have been doing a lot of guessing and checking, and I think I have found the bug. When google sheets is used as the table source, and number range slider filter is used on a column. All entries within that column must have a number in them. If any cell within that column is empty or contains a string, the deleting of all table information will happen. In my opinion this is a bug that needs to be fixed.

Furthermore, the problem persist with other types of table sources. I uploaded a .xls to the website and used that as the table source. When the number range slider was used on a column with cells that were empty or contained a string. The table will permanently filter those rows, using the clear filters function will not bring them back.

Also is it possible to add a prefix or a suffix to the number range sliders?

    Thank you!

    Hello again hcarrig.

That makes sense. Linking to an existing data source (CSV, Excel, Google Spreadsheet) that contains empty cells will break the table because the number range slider will try to include the NULL value somewhere, but it can't. Also, you cannot use the Number range slider on a "String" type column, since it is not designed to work with strings.

Unfortunately if you do use the number range slider in any of these two scenarios, you will have to recreate the table again.

We are aware of these bugs, and our development team is working on fixing the first issues, and disabling the number range slider for the string type column.

If you were to import a table (third option when creating a table) from an existing data source, it should be fine with the empty cells in the column (see attachment), but I don't know if importing the tables would be useful for you.

Also is it possible to add a prefix or a suffix to the number range sliders?

You mean to add the prefix on the slider itself, so it displays (for instance) $50 instead of just "50", correct?

If that is true, I'm sorry but it can't be done yet with the plugin's built in features.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best regards.
