When I create a new entry in a field that is a foreign key, I can search the data only by first letter, for example if I'm searching the name "Maria", I can make the search only typing "M". Is there a way to use also the other letters, due to make more accurate the search?.
So if I would search for "Maria" I could type "Mar" to match only the names that begin with these letters, and not all the name that begins with "M".
I have a Foreign Key table as described in our documentation, and both global search and text filters work just fine.
Can you, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
I don't know how you created [wpdatatable id=17] and how it links to [wpdatatable id=14]. You really need to help me here.
The cognome column from [wpdatatable id=17] is set up as a foreign key from [wpdatatable id=14] like this:
So, displays column cognome from [wpdatatable id=14]. However, when I look at [wpdatatable id=14], I can't find those values. For example Sabato, Bonazzi, Grizzi from [wpdatatable id=17] do not exist in [wpdatatable id=14]. Also, all entries in [wpdatatable id=14] are CAPSLOCK while none of them are in [wpdatatable id=17]. How did you manage to achieve this?
I accidentally removed the first entry from [wpdatatable id=17] (Bonato if I recall correctly). I couldn't get it back because the drop-down shows correct values - values from [wpdatatable id=14], and it's simply not there.
Please help me understand how you created the table, so I can help you out.
No problem, Novy_85, I understood what you're trying to say.
First - unfortunately we can't create a conditional formatting rule between columns, so this:
In the table 44 I select the name Stancati Luigi Maria, and automatically the field "address" is compiled with the corresponding address
will not work.
The second thing I noticed is that you're using the Nominativo column from table #44 as both Store value and Display value. While it does work, issues like the one you're experiencing may come up. That's why it's always best to create a relation like described in our documentation - Display value that has a unique integer store value.
See how one of my foreign key columns is set up:
And with it, the global search will find the result for employee_id:
So, maybe it'd be best if you were to assign the unique integer ID to each "Nominativo" and try again. Maybe it will work with wdt_ID column, but I wouldn't advise you to do that.
I didn't understand, though, what you meant by this:
Other thing that I would like to understand is if it possible to retrieve various datas automatically in the table.
Can you, please explain in a bit more detail?
Also:
The last question is about the print and export buttons
Here's where you can find info about table export tools. Please take a look, and if you have any further questions about them, please let me know.
