Hi. I am having a couple of issues with our wpdatatable.
The initial issue is/was that there are two columns that are being displayed incorrectly. On the page, you'll see that oz/yd (currently is not showing up at all [more on that in a moment]) and the mils are not displaying the number that is in the actual .xls file. The decimals are off. On the oz/yd I think (sorry this issue came up a few weeks ago and with them not displaying anymore, I can't remember exactly) the decimal is 2 numbers off and the mils is 1 decimal point off.
So on the .xls for instance, the top line with Style 1000, the Mils is 0.5, but on the datatable displayed on the website, it shows as 5.0. I'm 99% sure the oz/yd issue was where it should be 0.33, it was showing 33.0 on the datatable.
So that is one issue. Why are these displaying wrong on the datable?
The second issue is that I wanted to troubleshoot this and see if I could fix it. So the column type was string. I wanted to try to switch it and see if that fixed it so I changed it to interger. This just made it totally disappear. I switch it back to string, but it just remains totally gone now on the wpdatatable. So this is the second issue ... where did all of the info go and why did it disappear? And how do we get it to show back up.
Thank you very much. Sorry for the lengthy post, but this has been down now for a few weeks so would really like to get this taken care of soon.
I've attached the .xls that this is referencing as well.
Sorry for the late response - Wednesday and Thursday were non-working days in our country.
I have downloaded the file and used it in my local environment, and it comes up normally:
It's working both when I use the Excel file as an external data source, and when I import it. Please note, though, that the Float format has to be the same in the sheet, in wpDataTables and in WordPress settings.
When you changed it to string, it probably couldn't fetch the data again to turn it into integers or floats, so I believe you'll have to recreate the table again.
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
Thank you very much Aleksandar. That looks like it worked!
If not too difficult to explain, can you tell me what you changed in the number formatting please? I'd like to tell the client what we had to do. If not, no worries.
When you open main settings of wpDataTables, you have two options for Number Format:
15.000,00
15,000.00
It's just a matter of the decimal separator and the thousand separator. It has to be the same as it is formatted in the source file for the plugin to correctly display the results.

No worries about the subject

Hello again Garbonso.
I changed the number format in main settings of wpDataTables, and created a new table using the Excel file you sent me [wpdatatable id=9].
It looks fine to me now.
Can you take a look and let me know?
If this works for you, you'll need to re-create the other tables as well, since changing the format doesn't change the existing data in the tables.
Best regards.
