In your documentation it states that a cancellation url is sent to the client for them to cancel their own appointments. However, in my own testing of this I cannot find this. How do it up for a client to manage their own appointment (cancel or rebook)?
If you what to provide to the customer in email notification cancellation URL, then you can do that by inserting Notification placeholder %appointment_cancel_url% in email template. You can check all available placeholders on Notification page.
If you what to allow your customers to login on their account so they can cancel and reschedule appointments, then you need to enable options Automatically create Amelia Customer user and Allow customers to reschedule their own appointments in Roles setting of plugin.
Like this it will be created WordPress user when they make appointment and after that they will be able to login and to check own appointments, cancel or reschedule their appointments.
I have attempted to implement what you have stated and have been unable to get it to work. when I put it into a notification and do a test email this is what I get:
"Dear John Doe,
You have successfully scheduled Service Name appointment with Richard Roe.
Thank you, Company Name
If you need to reschedule your appointment you can do so here: %appointment_cancel_url%"
I copied and pasted this from the list. Is there a step I am missing here?
This email placeholders is created for customer only. It is not working in test email because you didn't make appointment, you are just testing sending emails.
If you insert this placeholder for customer Approved or Pending notification template (depends on which Default status you set in General settings) and then make an appointment as customer (you can use Incognito mode in browser) and when you finish appointment you will get email notification with appointment cancel URL.
