I moved my website to a new isp. I was getting an error message on my website that the linked document couldn't be found. But, when I went to settings in wpDataTables, I got the error, but there were no options to make any changes.
Then, I deleted the plugin and reinstalled it. Now, there are no tables listed.
Most plugins allow you to delete them, but the data is kept in a table so that when it gets reinstalled, it comes back. Is that not the case with your plugin?
Yeah, unfortunately if you clicked on "Delete" in the "Plugins" section of your dashboard - you did lose your tables. This is one of the warnings listed in our documentation, under updating wpDataTables section.
The tables are usually saved in the database as `wp_wpdatatble_1` and so on. So, with this in mind - manual tables should still be there, although I cannot guarantee in what state you will find them.
Most of the time - those tables are still usable, but you have to customize them again, and create them using the SQL query like:
I restored my website to right after I moved it to a new isp before I deleted the plugin. As you can see, the two tables are shown. However, when I click on configure, I get an error message. Shouldn't I be able to update the settings for where the file is located?
I see those are CSV files, used as an external data source. Maybe the tables can still be used if you were to follow the red error message URL and copy the original CSV files in that location.
I can't say for sure that it's going to work. But either way - those tables aren't editable and they are only showing what's stored in those CSV files. So you should be able to create a couple of new tables that would use the same files, and just configure them to look the way you want.
Alexsandar is out of office today and I will help you out.
Yes. If you are familiar with manipulation data in database then you can find this table wp_wpdatatables and then insert in column content right address of the data source for wpdatatables id that you need. If not then please create new once.

Hello Alekasandar:
Yes, I can recreate the tables. I'm just surprised that I got an error message instead of the ability to edit the address.
Thanks,
Peter
