We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Hi there, your app looks amazing. Before purchasing, I wanted to inquire about the Google spreadsheet import function. If I import a table from a Google spreadsheet, will it automatically update if the original spreadsheet is updated?
Thanks,
Craig
Hello Craig.
Thank you for your interest in our plugin.
Yes, of course - if you update the Google Spreadsheet the table was created from it will update that table. There is a cache on the Google side, so when you update the table it might take up to 5-15 minutes to be reflected in wpDataTables.
Also, the data is read from the data source every time the page loads, so when your tables are large (more than 2000-3000 cells) this source won’t be the right choice since the page with large tables will load slow, or even crash after reaching a certain size.
Please note: Once you create a table from a Google Spreadsheet, changes in the core file from which a table is created, like:
are highly not recommended, because the old table will not work, at the moment. If you make any of these changes, please recreate the table again.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Best regards.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

Aleksander,
Thanks for your prompt reply. This is excellent.
My tables are small, with the largest one having 170 cells. However, I intend on having upwards of 30 tables on the same page, will that be an issue?
Thanks,
Craig
Hi Craig.
I believe this question should be turned to the hosting provider
Every table sends out an admin-ajax call, and while I have encountered users that have a lot of tables on the same page, the more tables you put there - the more time it will take to load the page.
If the tables are small, like you said, I believe we're talking about a few seconds. For example, I just created a page with 20 tables, and it took 9 seconds for it to load. Like I said, it varies on the server and hosting provider. I am on a local network, and without any additional plugins active, so that can also impact the speed.
Best regards.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković
