wpDataTables Lite mysteriously replaced my full version

I purchased the wpDataTables plugin a number of years back. I’m using this plugin on one of the WordPress sites I maintain. Recently while doing a review of this site, I noticed some strange issues with wpDataTables. After further review, I found that my purchased version of wpDataTables was now wpDataTables Lite (apparently a free dumbed-down version). I’m not sure when this happened, or how it could have happened without my knowledge.

After replacing the Lite version (which mysteriously appeared) with the latest full version of wpDataTables, my “Compact WP Audio Player” plugin (a simple one-button audio player - see description below) stopped functioning. This simple one-button audio player is the main feature of the table in question. A lot of time and effort went into developing this particular table because a complicated export feature needed to be programed into the clients database. This one-button audio player worked perfectly on a previous version of wpDataTables. With the latest version of wpDataTables, the shortcode is all that is appearing in the cells that used to contain the one-button audio player.

I’ve also been using the "Compact WP Audio Player" plugin in another area of the same WordPress site that is not associated with a wpDataTables table, and the "Compact WP Audio Player" plugin is still working great in that area.

Inserting shortcode into a cell should be simple and straight-forward and work flawlessly as it use to in a previous version of wpDataTables. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

    Hello pph47_ss.

Thank you for being our long-term customer.

Honestly, I don't know how a full version switched to Lite. I never had that happen without user "messing" with the installation. Anyway, I'm glad you found the way to bring everything back.

Now, as for the plugin not showing anything but the shortcode - have you checked the main settings?

There should be a slider "Parse shortcodes" and if that is disabled - it could result in a similar issue:

Please check this and let me know if it works.

If not, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

I just checked Main Settings / Parse shortcodes, and the slider was in the OFF position. I moved the slider to ON, and it immediately fixed the issue.
    THANKS!
