Have you tried making changes to this table in back-end? If you're able to make changes there, then there's something (theme or another plugin) preventing wpDataTables from making the changes.
wpDataTables is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) concept based plugin. This means that the table should look the same both in back-end and in front-end. If your front-end table looks and behaves differently than in back-end, this usually implies that there is another plugin (or the current theme) that's changing the behavior of our plugin.
Also, referring to the title of this ticket - inline editing is automatically disabled when creating a table from Gravity forms. Because we are using Gravity own forms for editing functionalities, some features are unavailable in both table and column settings. These options are grayed out and disabled.
Please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.
I noticed that the issue only occurs for Gravity Forms based tables. The manual table I created has the edit modal and the new entry modal displayed correctly.
Before anything else, can you please update Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables and wpDataTables plugins? New version of wpDataTables is 2.5 and Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables is 1.1.5.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT delete the old version from WP-admin (by clicking “Delete” in the plugins page) if you don’t want to lose all your tables!
My suggestion is to update the plugin manually by following these steps:
2.) Use FTP to open /yourwordpressfolder/wp-content/plugins
3.) Delete existing wpdatatables and wdt-gravity-integration folders.
4.) Upload previously downloaded wpdatatables and wdt-gravity-integration folders through FTP to plugins folder (unzip them)
5.) Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.
6.) Deactivate wpDataTables and wdt-gravity-integration and then activate them again.
7.) Clear server and browser cache
IMPORTANT: Do NOT delete the old version from WP-admin (by clicking “Delete” in the plugins page) if you don’t want to lose all your tables!
If this doesn't resolve the issue, then it leads me to believe there's a conflict with either a plugin you have installed or the theme currently active on your website, since the modals for manual tables are working fine.
Can you, please, change the theme just to see if the issue is still there? If it is, my advice is to deactivate all plugins except for wpDataTables, Gravity Forms and Gravity Forms Integration for wpDataTables, and then try again. This is just a test so that we can see if the issue is there with the basic set-up.
I have the table displaying correctly, the data from the gravity form is showing,
but when i click edit or new , I get an empty modal window instead of the gravity form
