Q1. Can the web site user add a database table entry (new row) e.g - Service Technician Job logging web site - Can the technician add a new entry for the customer visited, including the date, start time, end time , notes , etc ? (How can this be done - If not what product would you recommend for this)

Q2. Reactive selectable fields in a table e.g. - A table list customers to visit for the day - can the user select on the customer name and it will bring them to the table entry field as per above ? (how can this be done - If not what product would you recommend for this)

Thank you in advance for your help

Thank you for your reply - I will try and explain more clearly what I am trying to do and it may make better sense.

I am trying to build a database for service technicians that do regular servicing for our customers.

Every time they service a property they record down data like; date of service, used items, etc.

Q1.  Via wpdatatables, can a service technician add a new row with this information ? e.g. Date, Start Time, End Time, Parts used, Comments etc...

Q2. If I have a list of customers that the service technician needs to visit for that day, vis wpdatatables can the service technician select a customers name and it will re-direct them to a new row as per question 1 above ? (how can this be done - If not what product would you recommend for this)

    Thank you

    Sandro

    Hi Sandro,

    Thank you for more information.

    1) Yes, tables can be created from virtually any data source, including MySQL queryGoogle SpreadsheetPHP arrayExcel fileCSV fileJSON and XML input sources.

In your case you can Create manual table and make columns and set column types that you need.  Different column types are compatible with different filter and editor inputs. You can read more about StringIntegerFloatDateDateTimeTimeImageURL LinkE-mail linkCurrency/Price, and Formula (calculated) columns on the provided links.

    2) If I understand you right, we have  multi-criteria filtering. Advanced filtering is a special wpDataTables feature that enables front-end table users to filter the data in the tables by the values of each individual column. You can read more about his on this link.

You can try our sandbox site: Front-end & Back-end - you can find a fully functional version there to try out all plugin premium features.

All useful information about all wpdatatables features that are explained (video and text) you can find in our DOCUMENTATION.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,
