I received another email regarding a manual update to wpDataTables plugin.  As discussed with the developer in July 2018, I need to use the Wordpress auto-update utility to update this plug-in.  Otherwise, I will lose my tables/data.  In July 2018, the developer promised me that an auto-update would be provided, but this has never happened.  The developer also instructed me to NOT do the manual update.  Please provide the auto-update in Wordpress.  Thank you.

    Hello Warren.

The auto-update versions are not being released at the same time manual updates are. This gives us some insight and feedback from customers who manually updated the plugin, so we can fix potential bugs or issues before going through with auto-update if they exist in the new version.

If you entered your purchase code in main settings of wpDataTables, the plugin will update automatically when auto-update is released:

I see that my colleague advised to wait for an auto-update version if you don't have FTP, and I can agree with him. The auto-update should be released some time next week.

    Best regards.

    Kind Regards,

Thanks for the feedback.  Several manual updates have been released since I first purchased the plugin 14 months ago.  However, during this time, I have not seen one auto-update.

Also, I am not able to enter the purchase code in the settings configuration.  I see the space, but it does NOT allow me to enter anything.  Why?

    That's rather peculiar Warren.

Are you able to change any other information in main settings? Maybe change any of the drop-down options?

If not, there is probably a conflict with the bootstrap.js files.

Please go to wpDataTables main Settings on Your wp-admin page. You'll see Include full bootstrap front-end and Include full bootstrap back-end. Disable both sliders, hit Apply and refresh Your page.

Please let me know if you were able to enter the purchase code then.

If the issue is still there, is remote access a possibility?

We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party. You can write credentials here just check Private Reply so nobody can see them except us.

    Best regards.

Your suggestion did not work.  However, through trial and error, I discovered that if I click on a different input field and then scroll to the Purchase Code field using the Tab key, I can enter the code if I immediately enter it.  (I cannot access that field simply by clicking on it.  I assume it should not behave this way.)  So, I now have the code entered and applied/saved.  What else do I need to do to update to the latest version?
