Yes, unfortunately, there is a limitation when it comes to Excel-like editor and Foreign Keys. You can use inline editing in standard editor, and when you're done change it to Excel-like and it'll display the correct values.
This, of course, would not be useful if you need to enable editing for front-end users, and Excel-like is a must.
