Can you have blank columns whereby the end user enters the data straight into the cell, without even having to edit the whole row? That is, they see that all the cells in the column are blank, so they can just type straight into the cell.
Thanks for the information. I've looked at your documentation. I understand that you click "Allow in-line editing" which allows end users to edit all the columns in the whole table.
However, we only want a couple of columns to be editable by the end user. Could you please confirm the following is the correct process:
- Go to column settings | EDITING | Editor input type
- Change the setting from 'One line edit' to 'None' for all the columns we do NOT want the end users to edit
Also, when you then went to try and edit a non editable column, the name changed to "You can't edit.." and stays that way for a while. Is that just in the sandbox system?
Thanks for the information. The second point that I mentioned might be a bug. That is, when you try and edit a non editable column, the name changed to "You can't edit this field" and stays that way for a period of time. This is happening when displaying the actual table in the back end. I'm not sure if it does it when live on the website. If it does it on the live website then I think it is a bug. Could you please look at the following screencast which shows what I am talking about.

HI Andrew,
Thank you for your inquire.
As I understand you want something like inline editing.
If that is the case you can check this link from our documentation.
Best regards.

HI Andrew,
That is the right approach for disabling the editing for some columns.
In the sandbox there is a latest version of our plugin, so what you see on the sandbox that is how our plugin works.
Sandbox contains all available features for the plugin.
Best regards.

If this is doing it on the live website, could you please get this resolved?
Thanks Andrew
HI Andrew,
I just checked with my team about this .
This is made by the design, and you will need to click on the other column or like you showed somewhere around the table.
The content of the cell can not be changed automatically , it requests for some other action to be called, for example to choose other column to edit.
Best regards.
