On each of the product pages of our website, we have several downloads/web links. We want to be able to have a link to each of those downloads/weblinks in the one cell in the table. e.g. in the Downloads column. That is each product will have multiple links. Are you able to do this in wpDatatables? If not, when do you think it will be available?
Thanks for that. I've had a look at the sandbox, although I am still not sure. Can we have multiple web links in a cell like in the attached PDF? For example in the 'Documentation' and 'BIM & CAD' columns there are multiple web links in each cell.
Can this be done both in the table on the website and in the exportable document (excel, csv, PDF, word, etc.)? Can the web address be renamed, as we have done it in the attachment?
Thanks for letting me know. Is this something one of your developers can do as a customisation? If your developers are too busy, is that something that other developers can add to as a customisation? I think I read somewhere that if you make a customisation, it doesn't transfer over to updated versions of the software and you need to reload it. Is that the case?
Unfortunately we do not have free developers at the moment due to new features and updates of the plugins.
Any other developer or freelancer can customize our plugin, it does not need to be done on our side but please keep in mind that if something will not work we can not debug the third party code.
As for the customization, our suggestion is to make a backup of the all changes because the update will erase that code.
So the best solution will be to develop that custom code as an Add-on or in the child theme as a template.
Thank you very much. That is helpful. Could you please advise which is better to do for this customisation re multiple web links and customisations in general:
- Add-on; or
- In the child theme as a template.
What are the benefits and risks of each? Does it also depend on what sort of customisation you are doing?

HI Andrew,
Thank you for your inquire.
We do support the link columns as you can see in our documentation.
So if the link that you are pasting in the column cell contains all the necessary files for download this can be achievable.
You can test all of the plugin features on our sandbox site

HI Andrew,
Unfortunately something like this is not possible to achieve with the plugin built in features at the moment.
Only one link can be added in the cell of the URL link column.
Best regards.

HI Andrew,
Both ways are good, because you will have files that are separate from the plugin or theme.
So when the plugin or theme is updated the add-on or child theme will not be updated and you will not lose any of the code that you changed.
Best regards.
